Swamy Ramananda
Tirtha Rural Institute strongly believes that rural prosperity
will not come to a reality unless we promote entrepreneurship
among rural masses. With the advent of new economic policies such
as privatization, liberalization and globalization, the rural
economy has been shattered with large-scale production and
wide-distribution practices. Added to this, prevailing drought
conditions over several successive years have further intensified
the plight of the farmers. However, rural markets have been
undergoing a dramatic change with the influx of many a new product
and service into rural areas, giving rise to consumerism. In this
scenario, the best solution for rural empowerment could be nothing
but creation of entrepreneurial culture among rural masses. This
initiative would not only create self-employment and employment
opportunities among rural masses but also arrest rural migration
to urban areas. In this direction the philosophy and initiatives
of the Institute are as follows.

Every skill
training initiatives of the Institute is duly supplemented
with customized entrepreneurship development modules with a
view to encourage self-employment among the trainees.

Specially
designed entrepreneurship development and rural marketing
modules are implemented to different clienteles of the
Institute.

DWCRA and other
Self-Help Group members were trained for establishment and
successful running of micro enterprises in Nalgonda district
under DRDA, Nalgonda.

The Institute
has been providing entrepreneurship development training
support for many projects such as APRLP, CAPART, UNIDO, etc.

Designed and
conducted State-level Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP)
to MPDOs, EORDs, and DYWOs, CEOs of Youth Services Department
of Andhra Pradesh during 2001.

Designed and
conducted EDP training programmes to about 19,000 CMEY
"A" Category Group Members in Nalgonda and Medak
districts during 2002 and 2004.

About 1000 Rajiv
Yuvashakthi Group Members have been trained during February -
March 2005 under EDP training programmes in Nalgonda and Medak
districts.
